The policy of improving NIN Slip and nimc Mobile App was part of Federal Government’s Plan in order to improve the system.
This was made known to the public through the ministry’s Official website https://www.commtech.gov.ng/news-and-media/daily-news-report/389-improved-nin-slip-and-mobile-app-launched.html and other media platforms.
What is Improved NIN Slip (INS)
The new Improved NIN slip is simply a portable and easy to use version of the NIN that can be gotten via NIMC App or other self-service portal.
The INS can be used only by those that have already been issued NIN. Enrolled citizen can download the New improved NIN slip from their smartphones in pdf format and Print out for usage.
However, the current nin slip still remains valid but will be phased out soon. It is recommended to the improved nin slip after enrolment.
How to Get And Download Improved NIN Slip
The new nin slip can be downloaded from the Following channels
- Nimc App or
- From Mobile Web Service portal https://nimcmobile.app/ or https://dashboard.nimc.gov.ng
To download from the dashboard portal or use the MWS MobileID App, you will be required to provide your user ID and or otp. The user ID is an alpha-numeric ID which is used to protect the NIN. It is usually displayed at the top of the App in the format ABCDEF-1234.

How To download Improved NIN Slip from NIMC App
First of all, you will need to download NIMC APP and set it up. The nimc app is available to both Android and iOS devices on Play Store and Apple Store respectively. Otherwise click https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nimcmobile for Android or goto https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nimc-mobileid/id1500621463?uo=4 for iPhone and other Apple devices.

How to Get Started With NIMC Mobile App
Launch the App and login using your NIN or dial the code *346*3# from the mobile number you use to enrolled to retrieve it.
The MWS MobileID App will automatically find and displayed the mobile number linked to the NIN. If you are still using the number, click next otherwise select the option “I no longer use this phone number”.
A user ID and OTP will be sent to you. Fill in the details in the space provided and you will be granted access to use the MWS MobileID App.
From there you can navigate and download your improved NIN SLIP otherwise known as the Mobile Web Service (MWS) Application.
The NIMC Mobile App doesn’t require internet connection to retrieve and verify your NIN/user ID. However, internet access is needed when you intend to verify for another person on same App.
Alternatively you can also download from mws portal https://nimcmobile.app/. In all case, all you need is your NIN and mobile number to get started.
