WhatsApp, one of the most widely used messengers, has added another new feature, as it does on a regular basis, to make chats more lively.
The new feature is known as “disappearing messages,” which means that after some days of chat, the conversation will automatically be erased if the feature is enabled on your device. Other new updates include the WhatsApp Digital Payment available to Brazil and Indian users

This information was disclosed by WhatsApp on their blog and social media pages so that conversations don’t have to stick around forever, making them lighter and more private, starting with a 7-day period to disappear.
“Our goal is make conversations on WhatsApp feel as close to in-person as possible, which means they shouldn’t have to stick around forever. That’s why we’re excited to introduce the option to use disappearing messages on WhatsApp.”
The Disappearing Messages option is available across all supported platforms, whether Android, iOS, or the Web. Updating your App from the respective store will enable you to use this feature if it has been extended to your country.
How to enable disappearing messages
- Open the WhatsApp chat
- Tap the contact’s name.
- Tap Disappearing messages.
- If prompted, tap CONTINUE.
- Select On.
