MTN recently launched its 5th generation (5G) network in over 190 countries. The 5G network is currently available as a broadband service. With this step, MTN has become the first telecommunications service provider in Nigeria to launch the 5G network. Although the coverage is only available in a few places.
In this post, I have compiled the current MTN 5G coverage in Nigeria as of the time of launch. Since MTN will keep expanding the coverage from time to time, I have also explained how to check the 5G coverage if it’s in your location. This step is important before you decide to place a pre-order for the 5g router device.

How to check MTN 5G Coverage Area
- Go to the official mtn page and locate the 5G router product page. For Nigeria, the link is https://www.mtn.ng/product/5g-router/
- On the page, click on pre-order and a form will appear
- Click on search for 5G coverage areas. This will display all the current locations MTN has coverage. You can type in your place in the box, if your location is covered, it will return details otherwise no result found will be returned.
